TMJ Therapy

The Biodynamic Occlusal Supported Splint (BOSS© appliance therapy) was developed by our dentist, Dr GP Visser, and his team of multidisciplinary clinicians working at The O Clinic while treating patients with various problems, pains and dysfunction of the structures of the Craniofacial and Orofacial area.

This appliance therapy, was developed over many years through an accumulation of scientific, theoretical clinical and experimental learning in the fields of Neuro and Sleep Medicine, Psychology, Dentistry, Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Myotherapy, Cell biology, Immunology, Kinesiology, Posturology and other related medical sciences. 

 

The Appliance 

BOSS© is a removable oral appliance that may be used in the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal pain and associated problems such as: 

• Back pain/pelvic pain

• Neck/arm pain 

• Dizziness and pains in other joints which may be due to associated compensatory muscle/joint tension 

• Problems associated with wearing, breaking and/or grinding of teeth, crowns etc. 

• Pain and clicking/popping of the jaw joints on opening or closing the mouth during chewing, talking, yawning etc. 

• Dizziness and pains in other joints which may be due to associated compensatory muscle/joint tension
