Tooth Coloured Restorations & Fillings

Tooth coloured restorations (fillings) are an effective and conservative way to restore broken teeth. It has been internationally recognised and accepted that the placement of metal/mercury containing fillings should be abolished, due to several reasons such as the individual's general health and environmental toxicity.

The O Clinic team do not place metal fillings.

The science behind tooth coloured filling materials has moved on considerably. The strength and bonding of these materials mean less healthy tooth surface is removed and a minimal invasive technique can be used.

Tooth coloured restorations are often used in the following:

  • To repair cavities/tooth decay

  • To repair chipped or broken teeth

  • To change colour of discoloured teeth

  • To close gaps between front teeth

  • To make teeth look longer

  • As an alternative to silver amalgam fillings

  • To protect the root of teeth when gums recede
